Hero Coffee and Bagel Bar is a coffee shop in Chicago, Illinois. It is listed at 22 E Jackson Blvd, Chicago, IL 60604, which places it among the local businesses of Chicago that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by. Coffee in the United States is served by three kinds of places: national chains with drive-thrus and mobile ordering, independent neighborhood cafes that double as a workspace or a meeting spot, and specialty shops that roast their own beans or buy single-origin lots and brew them by pour-over, espresso or cold brew. Most open between 6 and 7 a.m. on weekdays, slightly later on weekends, and the busiest hour is the commute rush before 9. A drip coffee runs a few dollars, espresso drinks and specialty pours more, and tipping a dollar or a percentage on the card reader is customary but not required. Nearly every cafe offers free Wi-Fi, though some limit laptop seating at peak times or on weekends, and outlets are often the scarce resource.
Hours are published for 7 days a week. The most common schedule is 7 am–4 pm. Hours in the United States do change around federal holidays and long weekends, so a quick call before a special trip is sensible. You can reach Hero Coffee and Bagel Bar at (312) 285-2434; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. Chicago is in Illinois, in the Midwest, where summers are warm, winters are cold and snowy, and most errands are done by car; businesses keep steady year-round hours with the usual holiday changes. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Chicago follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Little to-go coffee and bagel shop tucked away in an alley. They have limited outdoor seating but don't count on getting a table, there was a constant queue when I went on a Thursday morning. The staff is friendly and efficient. I got the smooth criminal on an everything bagel which was delicious if you like salty sweet flavors with a slight spicy kick!

Busy day for the Hero Coffee Bar but they handled the customer foot traffic extremely well. Andrew was super friendly while I was waiting in line and made menu suggestions I otherwise wouldn’t have gotten. For instance, he showed me the dulce de leche iced latte which was stellar and told me to get the “Smooth Criminal” on an everything bagel. Although it was somewhat spicier than I imagined, I loved all the flavor profiles that came together and really enjoyed how different it was. This tiny coffee/bagel shop isn’t one you should sleep on if you’re in town or nearby.

If you're reading this, you're on your way to discovering a literal hidden gem. This coffee and bagel bar is tucked.Neatly, at the end of a brick laid alleyway between buildings. With an interior capacity of about four people at a time, you will spend some time waiting outside for them to call you in to place your order. There's selection of bagel sandwiches is unique, paired with some tried and true staples. I highly recommend you get one of their unique bagel sandwiches rather than sticking to a staple. You might be familiar with. The staff is incredibly patient and friendly.

The first thing we received was the coffee, which was the first indicator of quality. Quick and tasty, we both loved our iced dirty chai and vanilla lattes… then the bagel sandwiches came. We both thought the coffee was excellent, but these sandwiches left us both completely silent for the first half of eating. For me, this was the best breakfast sandwich I’ve had in my life. The Manhattan on a sesame bagel is tough to beat. She got a sausage, egg, and cheese on a jalapeño cheddar bagel and it was also insanely good. They also have cool stickers you can grab at the counter! Can’t recommend this place enough, give it a try! 😄😄

After a long flight, I was really craving a good coffee and a bagel, so I searched for cafés near my hostel and found this place. Tucked away at the end of an alley, it’s definitely a hidden gem and made for a fun, unique experience. I was surprised to see a security guard at the entrance directing people into the café, but it quickly made sense. The café itself is tiny, and they only allow about four customers inside at a time. The alley is decorated with string lights and has a really cool vibe. There isn’t any indoor seating, instead, all the tables are set up outside in the alley. You place your order from the alley, and when it’s ready, they call your name to pick it up from the small service window. I decided to try one of their seasonal drinks, the Choco Taco Cold Brew, and it was absolutely delicious. The real star of the meal, though, was the Herd Bagel Sandwich. It was hands down one of the best bagel sandwiches I’ve had in a long time. Fresh, flavorful, and exactly what I was craving after traveling. The only downside is the seating. Since there are only a handful of outdoor tables, finding a spot can be a little tricky during busy times. But if you can grab a seat, it’s
